A Tradition of Trust, Carried Forward
In my family, meaningful choices were never made alone. Maison Heirlooms carries that tradition forward, bringing trusted guidance to pieces worth keeping for generations.
Where It Began
Fine jewelry marks the moments that define us. A proposal. A milestone. A promise made to someone else, or to yourself.
Tien grew up knowing this. Her grandfather was a goldsmith. Her grandmother first came to him to buy a bangle, and he went on to make her jewelry for the rest of their life together, each piece made by someone who knew her completely. In her Vietnamese family, no one made a significant purchase alone. You brought someone knowledgeable with you, someone you trusted to look closely, ask the right questions, and tell you the truth.
Most people never have that person.
If you are choosing for someone you love, the worst outcome is not overpaying. It is watching them open the box and seeing something short of joy. If you are choosing for yourself, it is a piece that no longer feels right in ten years.
Maison Heirlooms was founded to be the person Tien's family always had. Independent of any seller, we stand beside you so you can choose with clarity, trust, and confidence that it will last.
Because an heirloom is not born the day it is inherited.
It begins the day it is chosen well.
A Relationship Built Over Time
We hope to become a trusted presence you return to — for the piece you are considering today and the collection that takes shape over time.
-
For generations, the luxury of having a trusted, personal jewelry advisor was a privilege reserved exclusively for the top 1%. High-net-worth individuals relied on generational relationships with family jewelers, private salon dealers, and elite auction houses to curate, authenticate, and source their collections.
Maison Heirlooms is reimagining that experience for the emerging collector.
We begin with your taste, not an inventory — opening the door to a wider world of maisons, independent designers, vintage pieces, and exceptional makers.
So you can discover what feels distinctly yours, build a collection with intention, and feel confident in every piece you choose.
-
We work only for you. We will always be transparent about our fees and any relationship with a seller. We will tell you the truth about every piece, even when the right advice is to walk away. Your plans, your budget, and your story remain entirely private. And there is never pressure to purchase.
-
We bring GIA-trained expertise in diamonds and fine jewelry, along with a deep understanding of how pieces are made and the houses behind them. We research market value through auction results and comparable sales, and document each piece for your records. We look past the price tag to what makes a piece exceptional and whether it's worth keeping.
Gemological Standards
For significant gemstone acquisitions, we seek to source stones with independent laboratory documentation whenever appropriate. In the U.S., this may include reports from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA); internationally, we may work with other established, reputable gemological laboratories appropriate to the stone and market, including Gübelin GemLab in Europe and Asia.
Where a report is not available or appropriate, we help clients understand what additional verification may be warranted before purchase.
-
Through trusted relationships across the jewelry industry and international markets, we can access bespoke designers, luxury retailers, diamond cutters, gemstone specialists, auction houses, private sellers, and the professional appraisal community.
We can also facilitate access to GIA laboratory services for independent gemological reports and draw on industry pricing and market resources to help evaluate diamonds, gemstones, pearls, jewelry, and timepieces.
Meet the Founder
Maison Heirlooms was founded by Tien Nguyen, GIA Graduate Gemologist and graduate of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology. A longtime collector, she brings together gemological expertise, a discerning eye for design, and a deep appreciation for jewelry, craftsmanship, and history.
Her expertise spans diamonds and colored gemstones, from ruby, sapphire, and emerald to more than eighty other varieties. She looks beyond the stone to assess the quality, materials, construction, and craftsmanship of the finished piece. Her fashion background informs her understanding of how jewelry complements personal style.
With more than a decade of experience in business strategy, Tien brings analytical judgment and an instinct for recognizing value beyond the obvious. Together, these perspectives shape an approach that balances technical knowledge, aesthetic sensibility, and thoughtful decision-making.
For Tien, the finest purchase is not necessarily the rarest, the most expensive, or the most recognizable. It is the one you will still be glad you chose years from now.
